  1. Benitez

Purchased this to replace the original. Just returned from a backpacking trip at 7000 ft. elevation. Had a little rain and snow. Worked perfectly. I was dry and comfy inside.

  2. Hoosier hiker

Great tent but horrible poles – I’ve used my tent a total of 6 times in every season. The last time I used it a pole section splintered into 6 different pieces longways. Love the tent just wish the poles weren’t so inferior.

  3. JasonD

Great tent- Get the Aluminun Poles – I bought this tent a few years ago and have had it out in the back country desert a dozen times or more. For the price and the weight I could not have chosen a better tent.

  4. Colorado Greg

I had a previous model of this tent with the fiberglass poles (which broke). The upgrade to aluminum was a great move. For the price of the tent, you can’t find a better solo backpacking option.

  5. Local

A good deal…. – I bought this tent to try it out. For the price, you cant beat it. It is a little heavy for backpacking long distances. It seems to breathe fairly welljust don’t touch the sides.

  6. dasboot

Decent value – I got this tent due to the size/weight/value considerations. Like everyone else mentions, the poles are garbage. I replaced them with aluminum which helped.

  7. T mag

This is a good tent as far as size and materials used. I have only used it once but it seems durable enough. My only issue is it requires too many stakes to stay upright.

  8. Anonymous

Solid, dependable light-weight tent – It’s been almost 12 years with this tent, so I guess it’s time to write a review about it. Picked up this tent for it’s lightweight and packability for solo-trips and quick overnight camping.

  9. smitty04

Excellent, compact, lightweight tent! – I have spent considerable time searching for the perfect solo backpacking tent and this is the one. I don’t have to let the low price sell me on how great this tent is.

  10. Tyler

Had this tent for a few years – Never had any problems with it at all. Maybe they changed the pole material over the years, but the one I got in about 2012 held up fine for a long time.

  11. archy

The fiberglass poles break easily – The fiberglass poles both broke on me the second time I set the tent up. Finding replacement poles is a pain.

  12. Makenzie

Air flow/windows – While the tent is fantastic and is perfect for myself, one other and my dog, I wish the design allowed for a few more windows. Not quite enough air flow without having to take the tarp off.

  13. Big Country

Magellan 2 man tent. – Easy to put up, really like the enclosure for kicking boots off and keeping other things out of the weather dry and mosture free.

  14. Randall

Stuff sack ripped – For $20 you can’t beat the price. It is a decent tent for my son’s Boy Scout hiking/camping weekends. The only complaint is the stuff sack ripped removing the tent out of the shipping box.

  15. Colorado Greg

Cool Upgrade – I had a previous model of this tent with the fiberglass poles (which broke). The upgrade to aluminum was a great move. For the price of the tent, you can’t find a better solo backpacking option.

  16. smitty04

I have spent considerable time searching for the perfect solo backpacking tent and this is the one. I don’t have to let the low price sell me on how great this tent is.

  17. tofurki

Great Backpacking Tent – This tent has served me well along the NCT, Manistee River Trail, Jordan River Trail, and numerous campgrounds across Michigan and Ontario. The poles and fabric have held up very well over.

  18. Curtis S

Great Tent – I bought this tent for a camping trip to the Sam Houston National Forest. I couldn’t be more impressed with the way it performed. Once I set it up, I found it to be very sturdy and well made.

  19. Klein Camper

Great lightweight tent for overnight camping! – This tent is a great little lightweight tent to put up fast and get back to having fun. Easy to put up with only one person and easy takedown as well.

  20. marloeuy

Pole breaks very easily – The fiberglass pole breaks very easily. Plus I can’t find any replacement poles.
